Artificial reefs, shore protection and marine sport and leisure centers.
ReefLand –was initiated to alleviate the ecological impact divers' tourism has on natural coral reefs. The ReefLand is particularly model to attract divers from natural to artificial reefs.
OBS system modularity enables fantastic designs of architectural structures. The ReefLand projects are adopted as habitats for the sea flora and fauna. The ReefLand projects are accompanied by marine biologists, and accelerate their fast growing new communities.
The ReefLand enables the creation of duplex structures, where the top above the water act as an artificial island, while the wet-lower part is an artificial reef. All kinds of sport and leisure attractions can be built on the island for the benefit of the happy tourists. The structure allows underwater restaurants, aquariums, glass tunnels and more. The ReefLand can simultaneously serve as a wave energy absorber, which can protect vulnerable coasts from storms and erosion.
ReefLand supplies services of a coral nursery and planting of corals into the reef for fast covering. The valuable protection given by the reef enables safe and fast reproduction of various species of fishes. A pilot ReefLand was erected in Eilat and was colonized, almost immediately with more than 30 species. 6 months later 250 beautiful corals were planted successfully.
